Clear Coated vs. Unfinished Aluminum — Same Pit Posse aluminum, different finish. Unfinished delivers a raw, industrial look but requires more cleaning to stay bright. Clear Coated adds a transparent protective finish that resists fingerprints and smudges for an easy-to-maintain, showroom look.
Q & A
How do I clean my Pit Posse product?
- Unfinished aluminum: Wipe with a soft cloth dampened with mineral spirits. Wipe in the direction of the grain for best results.
- Clear-coated and all powder-coated colors: Clean with warm water, a mild soap, and a soft cloth. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
Will it rust?
No. Our products are built from aluminum, which will not rust. Powder-coated colors add an extra durable protective finish on top of the aluminum for long-lasting performance.
What is the warranty?
All Pit Posse products are backed by a 5-year warranty.
Can I get a custom size?

The steel is not that strong ( the steel bended when ibwas tighting the bolt) but its good enough to hold your back tires as a reserve.

Really these are the fasteners you provide, didn’t trust them went with a little larger fastener. Also why a lock nut? And not a wing nut or something easier?

super cheap construction and the design is tough to use. The center bolt is loose so you have to try to hold it in position while aligning the wheel, then starting the holding nut all at once. Not so easy. I would have preferred all thread rod with jam nuts.

The issue with this item is the bolts and nuts included. The bolt is only half threaded which does not allow for the bolt to be secured to the mount which makes bolting the tire challenging. Also, included is a locking type nut which will require a wrench or socket necessary to get access to the spare tire. The mount itself is fine, it’s the hardware that the issue.
