Ok used this for the first time today the bead breaker worked very well. For dirt bikes the center bolt was plenty long. The best part is when your done if you put 5 or 6 pounds in the tire you can use the bead breaker on the spots that didn't seat all the way in to the bead with light pressure those spots will just pop right out.

Better if bolted down to a pallet. needs large washer between wing nut and wheel center. Needs a tough plastic tube to protect threads on center rod.

I have no nearby bike shops, so I have always changed my own tires. I have used everything from a Harbor Freight Tools tire dismounter/bead breaker to different hand held tools that the manufacturer claimed were "the way" to easily pop the bead off a bike rim. These usually work ok on dirt bike tires, but street bike tires are different animals, specially on the large sportsbikes. I happened to come across this one on YouTube, and decided to give it a try. The short version is that it works better than anything I have ever tried. The wheel sits securely on the nicely padded upper rim, I didn't even need to use the center bolt to hold it in place. There's no interference with the brake disks (and on a sportsbike they're pretty large) once you remove the weird ring that's welded on the inside of this stand (not sure what its for). I used a cut-ff tool to take it off, being careful to not damage the rubber coating. Took 5 minutes. The lever used to apply pressure on the bead breaker supplies plenty of leverage to separate the tire from the rim. The adjustability of the bead breaker bar assures the bead breaker can be positioned in the right spot regardless of differences in wheel size. I did not mount the tire changer to any surface using the bottom tabs that are there for this purpose. I chose instead to bolt large plastic disks I had laying around (about 5" diameter) to the bottom tabs, and glued rubber pieces to the bottom of these disks. Now I can use the tire Changer anywhere without it sliding around on the floor. I'd buy another in a heartbeat, but I'd look for this particular model. I've seen others that look similar but don't have the nice rubber coating on the top rim and are flimsier, with the top and bottom pieces bolting together. This one is all one piece.
