YES this is heavy duty (as compared to the lower cost one I bought on line last time). You can easily feel the difference. I'm very pleased and have very positive expectations this one will last a long time. Hope this helps you buy with confidence if you were wondering if it really is heavier/thicker material than the one that failed you, and thus worth the few extra $$.
